Introduction

CADS is an acronym for “Cerebral Palsy, Autism-ADHD, Down Syndrome-Dyslexia, Slow Learners.”

CADS Enhancement Centre (CEC) or Pusat Pembangunan Potensi CADS is a non-profit organization registered with Malaysian Registrar of Society (Reg. No. 1659-03-5). Formed in 2003 by a group of parents, academicians and individuals with interests in special needs children development.CADS Enhancement Centre also provides the necessary counseling and support group for the family and care-givers of CADS children.

Our goals is to provide CADS's children with equal opportunity to develop and maximize their potentials, so that they will eventually grow into independent, productive members of the society and are respected by the community.

Our core values are:

  1. We believe in a holistic approach to each child, considering the full range of their individual circumstances and abilities.
  2. We are committed to small class sizes as a way of offering individual attention to each child.
  3. We believe that the learning difficulties of our children should be acknowledged openly so that both the child and his/her family can learn coping strategies.
  4. We believe that students should be prepared for a variety of next steps: returning to mainstream or vocational school, getting to a higher level of education with regard to their abilities or talents.
  5. We subscribe to the Individual Education Programme, whereby early identificationof a child with special needs can result in the commencement of an individually prepared programme catering to the physical, cognitive and social development of the child.
  6. We believe that periodic medical evaluation and individually-designed programmes are fundamental tools that have far-reaching benefits in the development of children with special needs.
  7. We believe that academics should be supplemented by a focus on building the child’s confidence.
  8. We believe the Centre should be a resource for all parents of children with special needs in the way of guidance and support, advice on education, provision of different therapy programmes and access to Medical consultation.
  9. We believe in serving families at all economic levels, races, religions, aspirations, strengths and weaknesses.
